Meeting Maker to Oracle Conversion Documentation

Below is a summary of the process in place to convert from Meeting Maker calendaring system to the ITS provided Oracle Calendar.  By following the steps outlined below, you should be able to migrate a group of individuals to the Oracle Calendar.

To convert from Meeting Maker to Oracle you will need to do the following:

·         Send email to L-ITS-Calendar-Support@lists.psu.edu to arrange a meeting  with the Oracle conversion team

·         Provide the team with your Meeting Maker data file for conversion

·         ITS will create Oracle accounts for all users that are being converted.

·         After the Oracle accounts are created, the Network administrator will need to contact the ITS Accounts office (accounts@psu.edu).  This needs to be done so billing can be set up for the recently created Oracle accounts.

·         Resources (meeting rooms, equipment, etc) cannot be converted.  These will need setup by the accounts office as well so they can be used in the Oracle calendar system.

·         Due to resource limitations, ITS will convert the data over a weekend.

·         Customer is to verify the data is complete.

Some items you should be aware of when converting from Meeting Maker to Oracle:   (a) the only version of the software that we have successfully converted is version 8.X, (b) your old Meeting Maker password will not convert to Oracle; your Kerberos ID and password will be used, and (c) the ITS server only maintains two years of Oracle data; depending on the size of your file you might need to purge some information.
