ANGEL Session Timeout Error
A number of factors can cause the timeout error. The most common causes and solutions are as follows.
- Empty the browser cache or delete temporary internet files. In IE open the Tools menu and Internet Options. Click on the button to Delete Files. Place a check in the box and click OK. This should take several minutes.
- Your browser security settings set too high (This can prevent initial log on). To check this in IE, go to the Tools menu and Internet Options. Then click on the security tab. Click the default level button to return the settings to the default.
- You may be using an outdated browser. Internet Explorer on the Macintosh does not work with ANGEL at this time. For PCs (Windows) and Linux use Mozilla 1.4 or higher or Internet Explorer 6 or higher. For Macintosh OS 9 use Mozilla 1.2.1 or higher, and for Macintosh OS X use Safari 1.0 or higher or Mozilla 1.4 or higher.
- Be sure you have an active internet connection and that there are not multiple instances of ANGEL running on same browser. The frames can cause this to be a problem. Close the browser and begin again.
Also be sure to log out of ANGEL when you are finished with it. If you cannot solve the problem, we need the following minimum information to diagnose it.
- Browser name and version
- Security settings of browser.
- Exact time and date of disconnect
- Course and section number
- Exact error message received
- Kind of connection user is on (dial-up, ethernet, dorm, etc.)
- IP address
