Can I recover a deleted message in WebMail?
First, check the trash to see if a copy of the message is there.
If not, it may be possible to retrieve a message that you inadvertently deleted, provided you did NOT press the Inbox "compress" link. Before executing the instructions below, make sure to log off from WebMail.
1) Go to http://portal.psu.edu, log on and then click on PASS Explorer.
2) In the PASS Explorer page, click on the button "Show hidden".
3) Double click on the [.webmail] folder.
4) Double click on the [toc] folder
5) Select the "inbox.toc" file and rename it to "oldin.toc"
Log out of portal and wait for atleast 15 minutes before you log back into webmail. All your previously deleted emails along with the ones you inadvertently deleted will show up in your inbox. Delete the messages that you do not need.
