Creating an X-PSU-Spam-Flag Filter in Outlook 2003
This article describes how to setup the X-PSU-Spam-Flag filter in Outlook 2003 to filter spam email to the Junk folder.
- Open Outlook.
- On the Outlook Tools Menu, click on Rules and Alerts.
- In the Rules and Alerts window, click on New Rule.
- Choose the Start from a blank rule radio button.
- Highlight Check messages when they arrive. This is highlighted by default.
- Click on Next at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down the list of conditions under Step 1 and check the box next to With specific words in the message header.
- In the Rule description area (bottom half of window), click on the underlined words specific words.
- A new window will open up.
- In the Specify words box type, X-PSU-Spam-Flag: YES.
- Click on the Add button to the right.
- Click OK. The rule should now be updated to indicate the words to filter by.
- Click Next.
- Place a check mark next to the Move it to the specified folder box.
- In the Rule description area, click on Specified folder. A listing of all your mail folders should appear.
- Click on the Junk email folder.
- Click New.
- Under Name type Junk Email.
- Click Personal Folders.
- Click OK.
- Next, click the Junk Email folder you just created.
- Click OK.

16. Click OK.
