Creating an X-PSU-Spam-Flag Filter in Mail on Mac OS X

Instructions for configuring the PSU Spam Flag on Mac Mail Document Actions.

Instructions on setting up the X-PSU-Spam-Flag on Mac Mail are  as follows:

  1. Open Mail.
  2. Go to Mail -> Preferences.
  3. Click on Rules.
  4. Click on Add Rule.
  5. Type in a name for the rule in the Description text box (e.g. PSUSpamFlag).
  6. In the first pull-down menu, select Any (If Any of the following conditions are met).
  7. In the second pull-down menu, select Edit Header List.
  8. Click the '+' button.
  9. Type: X-PSU-Spam-Flag.
  10. Click OK.
  11. In the second pull-down menu, select X-PSU-Spam-Flag.
  12. In the third pull-down menu, select Contains.
  13. In the text box next to that pull-down, type: YES.
  14. In the fourth pull-down menu, select Move Message.
  15. In the fifth pull-down menu, select the mailbox you want the mail moved to.
  16. Click OK.
  17. If you wish to run/apply the rule now, click YES in the pop-up window. Otherwise, click NO.
  18. Close the Rules window by clicking on the red circle in the upper right hand corner of the window.
