Q: When using Word there are no submenus. I reinstalled and that did not help. What can I do?

A: There are two fixes described at http://support.microsoft.com, article numbers Q279235 and Q288341. If these do not work, then look at the known 3rd party extension conflicts at Q273015.

Q: Where can I learn more about my Microsoft software for my Macintosh?

Q: Where can I get KPOP for my Macintosh?

A: You can download KPOP at https://downloads.its.psu.edu on the Web.

Q: When I try to print from my Mac I get the message "Port is in use – Make AppleTalk inactive." When I make AppleTalk inactive I get the same message! What do I do?

A: Go under Apple, select Control Panel, select AppleTalk then go under the EDIT menu and select "User Mode" and click "Advanced" and click OK. Now click Options, Inactive, and click OK. Close and save window and it should now work.

Q: When I try to upgrade my system software (or Norton Utilities or Antivirus) my Macintosh crashes. What is wrong?

A: You should put in the CD and restart the machine while holding down the 'C' key. This will boot from the CD and allow the update without crashing.

Q: How do I capture the screen on a Mac so that I may print it or save it as an image?

A: For systems 8 and 9, hold down Apple+shift+3 to capture whole screen. Apple+shift+4 captures a rectangular section of the screen that is defined by user (after key combination, click and drag to make selection). Apple+shift+4+capslock creates a picture of a window (after the key combination click on window to capture it).

Q: I can’t print from Netscape 4.x from my Mac on my Epson printer. When I do everything comes out tiny!

A: This is a known bug in Netscape 4.x. Uncheck "fit to page" option in the print dialog box.

Q: Eudora is very slow since I upgraded to OS 9.

Q: How do I import my mailboxes, settings, and address book from another email program?

Q: How do I add Kerberos functionality to Eudora on my Mac?

A: Close all applications and install the Kerberos client. Locate the folder "extra plugins" in the Eudora Pro Folder and drag it into the "Eudora Stuff" folder. Launch Eudora and under Special select Settings. Click on the checking mail category and check Kerberos. Then under the category Kerberos configure as follows:

Kerberos POP3 port: 1109
Realm: dce.psu.edu
Service Name: pop
Service format: ^0.^1@^2
