Installation Instructions

  1. Run the file Eudora.exe:
  2. Click "Setup" to begin installation process.
  3. Follow the instructions given by the setup program to complete installation.
    • The first screen to appear is the standard Welcome screen. Read it then click the "Next" button.
    • Read the license agreement, click the "YES" button.
    • This screen shows you the components that Eudora will install and the amount of disk space required for installation. Click Next.
    • The next screen allows you to choose where to install Eudora. Either accept the value shown or change it and click Next.
    • After you have chosen the location of the Eudora program files, you can tell Eudora where to store your mail and any attachments you may receive. If you have been using an earlier version of Eudora and you would like to keep your current mail settings and mail currently in your mailboxes, you should choose "Custom Data Folder" and click "Browse" to locate or type in the name of the folder that contains your old mailboxes. (The default is "c:\mail". If your files were kept in this directory you can skip this part.) Warning: If you do not enter the same folder that you have been using for email, then any mail that you were saving and any mailboxes you have set up will not be available in the new version of Eudora. Click Next.
    • You will be shown the directories that you've chosen. If they're correct click "Next". (If they're not correct, click "Back" and fix them!)
    • Eudora will now copy files to the selected directories.
    • Click the proper button to tell Eudora if you want a Eudora shortcut on your desktop.
    • Uncheck "After install take me to the accessory download page" unless you want to go to that page. Note: You must be connected to the Internet to visit the page.
    • Uncheck "I would like to view the Eudora readme file" unless you want to read it.
    • Click "Finish"
    • If it asks to restart you computer, let it.
  4. To start Eudora either double-click the desktop shortcut or it can be found under Start -> Programs -> Eudora -> Eudora ->.
