Tips for using both IMAP and WebMail
- Having WebMail and IMAP sessions open at the same time will result in errors. While users can use both IMAP and WebMail, they should not be logged into both services at the same time.
- Folders created in WebMail will NOT appear in IMAP.
- Folders created in IMAP will NOT appear in WebMail.
- To create space in WebMail, delete all attachments in the Attachment folder. Doing this does NOT delete the actual MIME attachment or the email it is attached to. All your attachments in WebMail are stored two ways. Deleting everything in the attachment folder only deletes one of the two locations. If you delete the original email that deletes the attachment in BOTH locations.
