FTP Alternatives

Since June 1, 2002 PSU provides ONLY secure file transfers. Users are no longer able to use non-secure FTP software such as WS_FTP for Windows to transfer files to their Webspace or to their Penn State Access Account Storage Space (PASS). Penn State offers the following alternatives:

1. PASS Gateway - Step-by-step instructions with screen shots for all the most common operating systems are found on: https://www.work.psu.edu/pass/instructions.shtml
   
2. PASS Explorer - Accessible through We Are – Penn State Portal at: https://portal.psu.edu Screen shots and instructions are available on this page: http://www.psu.edu/portalproject/passexplorer
3. Secure Shell File Transfer (SSH) - This software, as well as other secure file-transfer clients,  may be downloaded for free from the Penn State server. Visit https://downloads.its.psu.edu and look in the file transfer category.
