Converting from Eudora to Outlook - Special Information for Vista Users

Converting from Eudora to Outlook using Outlook Express on Windows Vista.

With the release of Windows Vista, Microsoft has replaced Outlook Express with a new program called Windows Mail.  Unfortunately, Windows Mail does not have the capability to import from Eudora, and therefore cannot be used in the upgrade process from Eudora to Outlook 2003 or 2007 for users running the Windows Vista operating system.

There is a product by Transend.com called Transend Migrator, which is not a free product, but will do the conversion from Eudora to Outlook directly.  Transend Migrator also works with a variety of other mail clients.

Another option is to use Mozilla’s Thunderbird as your e-mail client.  Instructions for converting from Eudora to Thunderbird are available by doing a live search in the Knowledge Base with the keywords Eudora to Thunderbird.
