Web FAQ 7.01. How do I put a counter on my Web pages?

Document Actions

Counters are cgi-scripts which run on the server to keep count of the number of hits on a Web page. ITS provides a few counter scripts in its cgi-bin directory. There are two types of counters available: a text counter and a graphical counter. To use these follow the directions on the pages.

Important: If you use a text counter which is a server-side include, you need to make sure that the file where you put text counter is set to be parsed by the server. For instructions on how to do this, refer to the IMPORTANT subsection in FAQ 6.2.
