Windows 10 Mail: IMAP Configuration

Important Notes Before Starting:
IMAP is an enrolled service.  Please go here to enroll: https://www.work.psu.edu/access/email/

If you have never used Windows 10 Mail before on this computer, it will start with a screen saying:
Add a new account - Select that option.
If you have used Windows 10 Mail before on this computer, select the cog towards the bottom left, and then Accounts from the Settings pane on the right side. From there you can choose the + Add account option.

1. Select Advanced setup at the bottom of the list

2. Select Internet email

3. Account title: (e.g., PSU Email)

4. Your name:

5. Incoming email server: email.psu.edu:993:1

6. Account type: IMAP4

7. Email address: (e.g., xyz123@psu.edu)

8. User name: (e.g., xyz123)

9. Password: (Your Penn State Access Account Password)

10. Outgoing (SMTP) email server: authsmtp.psu.edu:465:1
- For Non-authenticated SMPT, see below

11. Outgoing server requires authentication: checked

12. Use the same user name and password for sending email: checked

13. Require SSL for incoming email: checked

14. Require SSL for outgoing email: checked

15. Select Sign-in

For Non-authenticated SMTP, follow these steps:

1. Outgoing (SMTP) email server: smtp.psu.edu:25:1

2. Outgoing server requires authentication: unchecked

3. Use the same user name and password for sending email: grayed out

4. Require SSL for incoming email: checked

5. Require SSL for outgoing email: unchecked

6. Select Sign-in
