The My Notifications component provides a more streamlined interface for mobile use within ANGEL. The component appears automatically at the bottom of the My Profile page and provides instructors and students a quick at-a-glance update of several course features: discussion forums, course mail, and grades. Whenever new items are posted in one of these areas a red bubble with the number of new items appears above the icon. Instructors and students can click on the icon and go directly to any previously unseen content.
The discussion forums icon, named Forums, allows you to easily view and respond to course discussions on a mobile device. Clicking on the Forums icon automatically opens up a page listing all unread discussion forum posts. Note: Unread posts are aggregated from all courses.
Selecting the name of the forum post that you would like to read opens it. Each post is identified with the posters name and image and each post is clearly marked to make it easy to read and comment.
Within the Mail component, you can easily view and respond to course discussions on a mobile device. The options in MobileMail are Drafts, Inbox, Sent, and Trash.
- Drafts: Allows users to view, read, and complete draft mail messages
- Inbox: Allows users to view, read, and compose mail messages
- Sent: Allows users to view mail sent to course recipients
- Trash: Allows users to view mail that has been deleted, and moved to Trash
Note: The mail available within ANGEL is not the same as a Penn State e-mail account (Access Account) or any other Internet e-mail account. Mail sent within the ANGEL mail system resides in ANGEL only unless it has been forwarded. To reply to an ANGEL mail message, you must log on to ANGEL.
The My Grades icon, named Grades, allows you to easily view and respond to course discussions on a mobile device. Clicking on the Grades icon automatically opens up a page listing all grades posted since the last time it was accessed. Note: Grades are aggregated from all courses.
Select the name of the assignment that you would like to view and you will be taken to that part of the Course Gradebook to view your grade.
