Editorial Approval Process

Step-by-step instructions for editorial approval of an article for the ITS Knowledge Base.

To editorially approve an article:

  1. Log in using your Penn State access account user id and password.
  2. Submitted articles will appear in the right column under Review List.
  3. Click on the article you wish to review.
  4. Review the article for content and standards adherence.
  5. If the article is not acceptable:
    1. Click on Advanced.
    2. Scroll down to the Comments and enter your reasons for rejecting the article.
    3. Scroll down to the Change State area and select Reject.
Note:  When the author has made the changes, he will need to re-submit the article and it will then re-appear in the review list.
  1. If the article is acceptable, continue with the next step.
  2. Click the Properties tab.
  3. Verify/select keywords that are appropriate for the article.
  4. Click the  Save button.
  5. Submit the article:
      •  Click the drop-down arrow next to State and select submit.
  1. The article will go to the local IT Manager for final approval and publication.
