HTML Editor: Cut, Copy, or Paste

The HTML editor allows you to copy and paste text, but you may receive security warnings in some browsers.

Cut and Paste

Use this procedure to move text from one part of the page to another.

  1. Select the text or other content you wish to move.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the Paste (clipboard) button to access the full edit menu.

    The Cut and Copy options are accessed by clicking the down arrow next to clipboard button.

  3. Select Cut.
  4. Place your cursor in the new location for the content. Click the Paste button to paste the text at that location. If you see a pop-up message asking for access to the clipboard, click the Allow Access button.

Note: The cut content can also be pasted in another application.

Copy and Paste

  1. Select the text or other content you wish to copy.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the Paste (clipboard) button to access the full edit menu.
  3. Select Copy.
  4. Place your cursor in the new location for the content. Click the Paste button to paste the text at that location. If you see a pop-up message asking for access to the clipboard, click the Allow Access button.

Note: The copied content can also be pasted in another application.

Paste from Word

If you are pasting text from Microsoft Word:

  1. In the Microsoft Word document, select the text or other content you wish to copy.
  2. In the ANGEL HTML editor, click the down arrow next to the Paste button to access the full edit menu.
  3. Select Paste from Word.
  4. In the Paste from Word pop-up window that appears, paste the content.

  5. Optionally, if you would like to preserve the font style, then uncheck the Ignore Font Face definitions check box.
  6. Optionally select the Remove Styles definitions check box to remove the Word formatting styles.
  7. Click OK to save changes.

Note: This tool can preserve most Word formatting.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The Cut, Copy, and Paste tools may be blocked by the browsers. Use the following keyboard shortcuts instead.
