My Files

You can create or upload up to 10 MB of personal files using the My Files tool on your My Profile page, and arrange them in folders.

You may wish to use the My Files area for reference, storage, or other purposes. Students may wish to store a copy of written assignments they have submitted.

To add content to the My Files area:

  1. While on your My Profile page, select the My Files link beneath the My Toolbox subheading.

    Select the My Files link on the My Profile page.

  2. Select the Add Content link in the upper left.

  3. Select whether to create a folder, create a file, or upload a file, from your computer into the My Files area.

Each option is detailed below.

To create a folder:

  1. Select the Create a Folder link.

  2. Enter a Folder Name.
  3. Click the OK button.

    Enter a name and click OK.

Note: If you wish the file to be within a folder, select the folder to open it before you select the Add Content link.

To create a file:

  1. Select the Create a File link.

  2. Enter a File Name in the text box provided.
  3. Enter the File Contents by typing or pasting.

    Note: If you wish to add formatting, images, or hyperlinks, select the HTML Editor link beneath the text area to display the HTML editor, an easy-to-use WYSIWYG editor. Also be aware that you must select the HTML Editor link in order to preserve any line breaks.

  4. When you are finished editing, click the OK button.

Note: If you wish the file to be within a folder, select the folder to open it before you select the Add Content link.

To upload a file:

  1. Select the Upload Files link.

  2. Click the Browse button.

    Click Browse.

  3. Locate the file on your local drive and double-click its name.

    Note: For best results, do not upload files that have spaces in the file name, e.g., file name.doc. If a file name has a space, rename the file prior to uploading, e.g., file_name.doc.

  4. Click the Upload File button.

  5. A confirmation message will appear. Click the Done button.
