Enroll in a Group

A group is separate from any course, but is similar in format. A group can be created by any instructor, student, or staff person with a Penn State Access Account.

A group leader can either set up a group so that anyone with a Penn State Access Account can enroll in it, or limit enrollment by requiring a PIN to enroll.

In either case, to enroll in a group, you must first search for it, as follows:

  1. Navigate to your My Profile page, which is the initial page that displays when you log on to ANGEL.
  2. Beneath the My Groups subheading, select the Find a Group link.

Select the Find a Group link.
  3. In the Keyword Search text box, enter the name or a portion of the name of the group you wish to enroll in.

If you do not know the name of the group, you can select a group Category from the pull-down menu to narrow your search.

  4. Click the Search button.
  5. When the name of the appropriate group appears in the search results, next to it in the Enrollment column is either an Enroll by PIN link or an Enroll (no PIN required) link. Following are the procedures for enrolling in each type of group.

Enroll by PIN

Select the Enroll by PIN link.

    Note: PINs are case-sensitive.

Enter the PIN, then click Enroll.

To enter the group, select its title beneath the My Groups subheading on your My Profile page.

Enroll (no PIN Required)
