Mac OS X 10.7 Lion: VPN Configuration
Configuring ISPtoPSU Connection
- Select the Apple on the toolbar.
- Select System Preferences.
- Click Network.
- Click the + icon in the lower left corner to add a new network interface.
- Under Interface, select VPN.
- Under VPN Type, select Cisco IPSec.
- In the Service Name field add ISPtoPSU.
- In the Server Address: field enter vpn.aset.psu.edu.
- In the Account Name: field, and your Penn State Access ID in the following format: xyz123@dce.psu.edu.
- Click Authentication Settings.
- Shared Secret:psuconnect
- Group Name: psuconnect
- Click the checkbox next to Show VPN status in menu bar.
- Click Apply.
Connecting to ISPtoPSU
- Select the VPN menu bar icon.
- Select Connect ISPtoPSU VPN (Cisco IPSec):
- Enter in your Penn State Access ID (with @dce.psu.edu) and password.
- Click the OK.
Disconnecting to ISPtoPSU
- Select the VPN menu bar icon.
- Select Disconnect ISPtoPSU VPN:
Setting up Wireless VPN:
- Select the Apple on the toolbar.
- Select System Preferences.
- Click Network.
- Click the + icon in the lower left corner to add a new network interface.
- Under Interface, select VPN.
- Under VPN Type, select Cisco IPSec.
- In the Service Name field add ITS Wireless at University Park.
- In the Server Address: field enter mobility.up.psu.edu.
- In the Account Name: field, and your Penn State Access ID in the following format: xyz123@dce.psu.edu.
- Click Authentication Settings.
- Shared Secret: pennstate
- Group Name: pennstate
- Click the checkbox next to Show VPN status in menu bar.
- Click Apply.
