Connecting to PASS and UDrive through Mac OS X (Connection Tool)

This document provides information on using the "Mount PASS Home.app" & "Mount U-Drive Home.app" tools. These tools will automatically connect to your personal PASS and UDrive space.

This article is intended for users of PASS on Mac OS X 10.10 and newer operating systems.

Prerequisites

These prerequisites only need to be done once, so if you have already done these steps to set up a connection to PASS for a class or club or U-Drive you can skip over this part.

  • Mount Homes Utilities

Download Utility to Mount Homes from http://downloads.its.psu.edu which is located under the File Transfer section. To successfully install this utility, you need the administrator password for the machine on which you are installing the tool.

  • Automatic System Clock Updates

Your computers system clock must be accurately set to the current date and time within your time zone for authentication to work with Penn State's systems.

Optional Items

If you are connecting from home or Penn State Wireless, you will need to install and use the Penn State VPN Client before following the steps below. Please refer to http://kb.its.psu.edu/article/891 to setup the Penn State VPN Client.

Connecting to PASS or UDrive using the connection tool:

1. Run the application "Mount PASS Home" & "Mount U-Drive Home"
2. When prompted, enter your Penn State Access Account user ID and Password
3. Click Continue
4. The connection tool will complete by connecting your computer to your personal folders in PASS or UDrive
